Home & Garden Club
The Azalea Home & Garden Club of Florence, SC is a nonprofit organization. Organized in 1948, it was the first African American- member garden club in South Carolina to be federated in 1974 (Federated # 582ES). Dedicated to its mission of promoting the love of gardening, while creating an appreciation of nature and encouraging home and civic beauty. The Azalea Home & Garden Club of Florence is the only garden club in the city of Florence, SC that has a neighborhood mini park located in the West Florence Community named "Hattie P. Lowery", honoring its founding member.
The Azalea Home & Garden Club of Florence operates under the sanctioning body of the Garden Club of South Carolina, Inc. and National Garden Clubs, Inc.
